Shelley is a Principal Systems Engineer at LivaNova’s Neuromodulation division and a SWE Life Member based in Dallas, TX. She has held numerous volunteer and elected SWE leadership positions over her 21-year membership including SWE Senator, SWE Nominating Committee member, SWE Magazine Editorial Board member, Region Secretary, Section President, Webmaster, and Social Media Manager. These SWE leadership opportunities were key to building Shelley's confidence and leadership competency skills to enact change at her employer organizations. She leads peers to design and implement complex implantable medical device systems, has chartered and chaired two women's leadership Employee Resource Groups, has led cross-functional Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Belonging initiatives, serves as a mentor to junior engineers, and is a strong advocate for women in engineering.
