Dr. Whitis joined GE Aerospace after a B.S.M.E. from University of Illinois, and an M.S.M.E. from MIT. While at GE, she received an M.S. in Materials Science from the University of Cincinnati, and a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Virginia. She has held roles in Material Development, Systems Engineering, Component Design, Stress Analysis, Life Management, and Additive Manufacturing. In 2019 she became the first female Executive Chief Consulting Engineer for GE Aerospace.
