Cecilia (Ceal) D. Craig, Ph.D., SWE Fellow, was a technology executive with 35 years-plus in high-tech. In 2000 (age 48: first retire date), she became a teacher: engineering and science classes for Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Talented Youth programs; online university classes for ~two decades. These experiences segued into a late-in-life doctorate (working full-time again to fund it), earned in 2014 (age 62) focusing on young women’s career influences (experiential programs) nurturing her passion how to inspire young women to pursue STEM careers. Since 2011 (age 57: 2nd retire date), she volunteers: not-for-profit officer, FIRST® robotics, active SWE member, officer, committee chair. She earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering (The Ohio State University), an M.S. in engineering (California State University at Fullerton), and a Ph.D. in education (Walden University). Recently widowed, she and her husband were married 51 years, she resides in San Jose, California.
