Paula McDonald is a Materials Engineer for rockets used in the Missile Defense industry. She is a Principal Engineer at Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3 Harris Technologies Company, and has 20 years of industry experience. She holds a Six Sigma Blackbelt and specializes in a variety of critical high-temperature materials, composites, adhesives, and ablative insulation materials.
Paula holds a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Davis. She is a SWE Life Member and serves on the Board of Trustees, which manages the SWE Endowment that funds ~130 annual scholarships, awards and other programming. She is a talented presenter that has led several sessions at SWE Local and Annual Conferences, was keynote speaker for Evening with Industry, and panelist for the 2021 STEM Expo at the California Capital Airshow.
Paula enjoys traveling, Disneyland, Oakland A’s baseball, music & theater, gardening and exploring nature. She is a devoted momgineer of a ten year-old boy and has been married for 18 years to an engineering executive.
